Forum on Whole-Systems Sustainable Development, 19-20 July 2007

Activity at the forum was captured in a number of ways which included voice recording main speakers, note takers at all group activities and use of flip charts by facilitators. The assembly were also invited to make their own notes on large posters as well as being invited to record thoughts to be discussed later at a ‘process work’ breakout session run by Mark O’Connell and Emily Hodgkinson.
At the end of the first day, Kath Williams (Science Shops) and Kim Fitzgerald (Bristol University) each took a number of note books with the purpose of highlighting the main issues that had arisen across the groups. These were further reduced by Glenn Davidson (Artstation) for display on the second day. One result of this process was the series of visual mappings shown below.

Kath completed reading through the notes for day two. Discussion was more focused but threw up little in the way of really new thoughts/ideas to add to those already recorded.

NB. There were also brilliant contributions from many others at the Forum, including Barbara Adam who has summarised her input in the form of a poem, here.
